We at Practical Aquaponics SA have spent the last 11 years mastering all the dynamics of Aquaponics thoroughly in theory and in practice.

We have designed and developed proven Aquaponics systems of varying sizes and configurations that are tried and tested, and are appropriate for Southern African conditions, and we have a unique, modular approach to production that enables flexibility and maximum control of the business, and which sets us apart from other Aquaponics industry players.

The course is an engaging, comprehensive series of lectures and practical lessons on aquaponics fundamentals that provides ample time to deal with your questions. You will learn how aquaponics works, location considerations, system design fundamentals, fish and plant selection and care as well as starting and maintaining your aquaponics system for optimal health and productivity. We desire to partner with you in your journey to success, so we value the relationship that emanates from our course interaction. Practical sessions are spent in the various aquaponics systems at the HPA facilities to see first-hand how the classroom theory works in practice. 1 review for 2 Day HPA Intermediate Training

  1. Martin Fick

“We moved from the Mother City to the small town of Prince Albert a few years ago, and opened a B&B called The Lemon Tree. Our dream was to start with sustainable food production for our own consumption and for our guests. But Aquaponics is so much more complex that it first seems. So we attended the 2-Day Intermediate Course run by Practical Aquaponics in Salem as a couple, and all we can say is, “WOW!” We cannot imagine starting Aquaponics any other way. There are too many pitfalls and so much misinformation on the Internet.
The course was extremely well run and once we had started our system, which is now running beautifully, we attended the Comprehensive Course also, which was fantastic.
We highly recommend Practical Aquaponics and especially Martin and his team who have been stupendous in the post training support.”
